One of the first things you should learn about cannabis is that there are two main types. Sure, there are hundreds of names for weeds but those fall under ‘strains’. All of the strains fall under this original group which is ‘Indica’ and ‘Sativa’. At first glance of the finished product, you will not be able to tell the difference. But when you smoke each one, it becomes clear.
When the plant is still growing it is easy to tell the difference between indica and sativa.
The Indica is small and busy and on close inspection of the leaves you will see each prong is really fat and touches the next one. When smoked the high is couch lock and laziness. Great for pain relief.
Sativas are the opposite. Tall, lanky, thin leaf prongs. They can take twice as long as the Indica to flower. The high produced is energetic and the user will often be able to get outside and exercise if they so wish too.
